Changelog
What changed on this site and in PaCord, the system that runs it. PaCord is a headless fork of Pagecord and it is open source: the code is at git.pablomurad.com/pablo/pablocord, and anyone can run it for their own blog. Newest changes first.
Fixed: the editor could throw away a post
Typing a tag and pressing Enter in the PaCord editor sent the form without the text of the post, which came back empty with a "can't be blank" error. The translated strings the editor's JavaScript reads were going into the page HTML-escaped, so the editor stopped halfway through starting up and the tags field never woke up.
- The strings are written as proper JSON again, and a broken string table can no longer stop the editor from loading.
- Enter in any field of the post settings used to submit through the first button, which on a published post is Unpublish. Enter now saves and leaves the post published or a draft, whichever it was.
- This changelog, linked from the footer.
PaCord speaks Portuguese and got lighter
- The whole PaCord dashboard is in Brazilian Portuguese as well as English: screens, emails, alerts, validation messages and the editor toolbar. Each person picks the language in their account settings.
- Posts carry their own language, so the ones written in Portuguese are marked
pt-BRon the site. - PaCord now runs in a single container next to its database and uses about 200 MB of memory, down from more than a gigabyte.
- A long cleanup removed what the old public blog left behind: unused code, fonts, assets, settings and tests.
Octothorpes, /now and a signature
- The site joined the Octothorpe Protocol: every post's tags are shared with the network and the footer carries its badge.
- /now shows my latest short notes in the site's own type and colours, and keeps itself current between builds. The newest one also closes the home page.
- The about page ends with my signature, drawn in the text colour so it works in dark mode too.
- A link to 1208.sh in the footer, with a red scribble under it.
A new look
A colour version of the logo, a lime and violet palette, New Spirit for text and titles, IBM Plex Mono for the small print, a dark mode that follows the system and a menu at the top.
- Footnotes link back to where you were reading.
- Headings get a
#link, and long titles switch to a condensed cut. - Link posts show the site they point to.
- The 404 and error pages have their own drawings.
- Pages fade into each other, and printing leaves only the post.
curl pablomurad.com
The site has a terminal edition. curl pablomurad.com returns the home page, posts, the archive and tag pages as coloured text, with a block letter banner on top and every link listed at the end of the page.
- Fixed: code blocks written in the editor lost their line breaks.
- Fixed: code pasted inside a table came out broken in the terminal.
