why I love indie services

I’m passionate about indie, decentralized, and non-corporate services.

But don’t get me wrong: data privacy is not the main reason I care about them. Honestly, what really fuels this passion is creativity.

I love seeing how people come up with solutions for everyday problems in their own way. Especially when they have very few resources. That’s when the solution gets even better. In Portuguese, we call it “se vira nos 30” — something like “figure it out with what you have.” I also like to call it creative independence.

Create, create, create. I love creators.

And the more services I can subscribe to in order to support them, keep them going, and back what they’re building, the more I’ll do it. At least in this case, I’d rather give my money to them than to Google.

I observe a lot. And I learn even more.
